Sincerity towards SAFETY on ROAD

India reported the world’s highest road accidents in 2018 with 4.67 lakh accidents claiming 1,51,417 lives. Human errors, road environment and poor condition of roads were the main reasons for accidents ……an extract from news dated August 12, 2020.

Government Sets target of Reducing Road Accident Deaths by 50% by Year 2024……..Posted On: 17 JUN 2021 by PIB Delhi

With the above analysis and targets set for road safety, all of us, irrespective of our position in society, must contribute through our sincere efforts for the safety. See, below is the incident of death of budding cricketer which has happened due to lack of required knowledge / sincerity. Blaming at later stage will be futile.

Govt. Authorities need to make drivers of all heavy vehicles aware and get compliance of road safety / traffic rules.

An 18-year-old boy returning from his cricket practice was killed after he rammed his motorcycle into a Roadways bus on the Ambala-Chandigarh Expressway couple of days ago. His friend, who was riding pillion, said they had left the academy around 5.20 pm. “On reaching the Baldev Nagar flyover, a bus was moving ahead of us and we were riding at some distance. The driver suddenly turned left without any indicator. Our motorcycle hit the bus and his friend’s head smashed into it, causing us to fall on the road,” the friend told the police. After the accident, the bus driver stopped and checked on the boys, but later fled leaving his vehicle behind. Police said on his friend’s complaint, a case was registered against the bus driver, under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 304-A (causing death by negligence).

    1. Early awareness, willing to practice and make safe driving our habit will surely help in saving our lives. Govt. Authorities alone can’t, but may play crucial role. Rest, every individual has to give safety, top priority on road.
Thank you Jag Mohan ji for your consistent support for the cause 🙏

  2. That’s true, VM. Care and caution on roads are paramount for safety of man and material. I have seen people driving at dangerous speed, when they find a clean and smooth road, but lose balance when a dog or a cat suddenly appears on the road.

    1. Yes, you are mentioned it well. As factor of safety is required for mechanized systems, so does with human centric aspect. That’s why caution with adequate margin in necessarily required, while driving or moving on road.
Thank you, Kaushal ji for putting your valuable thoughts 🙏
