Today, we have heard from our Honorable PM that following fields need to be strengthened for realising our dream of making our country “Viksit Bharat” by 2047:
1. Manufacturing
2. Agriculture
3. Technology
4. Gati Shakti
5. Defence
6. Green Economy & Blue Economy
7. Soft Power
I would like to emphasize here Safety* of people of our country which would affect reality of achieving status of Viksit Bharat.
*Though the word Safety seems small and having little practical adherence in our day to day life, I would like you to understand alarming situation of road safety in our country “In Road accidents, more than 1.8 lakh people have been killed, in more than 5.1 lakh accidents in the year 2025”. Affected families may be asked about the agony they have gone through after the accidents of their dear ones have happened.
In view of above, I earnestly appeal following to all stakeholders for minimising accidents on roads and ensuring safety of our fellow country persons:
1. ALL motorists must follow traffic rules, taking care of pedestrians and respect zebra crossings.
2. The Authorities needs to provide roads and paths, good enough to travel- not only for motorists, but also for pedestrians. They must take stringent action for every violation on roads, just issuance of challans will take long time to minimize road accidents.
3. Schools and colleges need to educate their students for practicing safety on road and by doing so, then can strengthen patience and empathy amonst our children and youth of our country.
Seeking your attention for understanding the issue and and act sincerely ensuring safety at individual level, for happy families, who will contribute for realizing our target of Viksit Bharat…..VM
This is a very timely, thoughtful, and socially responsible appeal. 🇮🇳
What I particularly appreciate is that you have looked at the vision of “Viksit Bharat @ 2047” not only through the familiar lenses of manufacturing, technology, agriculture, defence, and economic growth, but through something far more fundamental: the safety and well-being of ordinary citizens.
Your central message is powerful—a developed nation cannot be measured only by highways, industries, technology, or GDP; it must also be measured by how safely its people can travel and return home to their families.
Your thoughts resonate with my concern about safety of our people on road. Thank you, Verma ji for your understanding and appreciation🙏
