YOU may / might not have seen the news which states that A 16-year-old boy was crushed to death in an accident near the Red Light Chowk on the National Highway-44 in the Panipat on 05.09.2023. The deceased, a resident of Ram Nagar, was studying in Class 10. Father of the deceased, told the police that his son and his friend were returning home from school on a scooter when the accident took place. In his complaint to the City police, father said “the duo had reached near the Red Light Chowk when the driver of a car which was parked on the NH in front of a restaurant opened the car door. Their scooter hit the car door and both his son and his friend fell on the road. A private bus coming from behind ran over his son”. IO said that a case has been registered against the drivers.… Source: TNS

Everyone of us needs to understand that any individual must not do whatever is convenient to him / her, whatsoever he/she is. If either of three vehicle driver would have used restraint, the 16 year old would not have died.
- The car driver would have opened car door after confirming that nobody is coming from behind or after passing of that scooter.
- The scooter driver (deceased / his friend) would have kept safe distance on their left side while passing over that parked car or if that distance was not available at that time, he would have stopped till getting that safe distance.
- The driver of the private bus would have kept safe distance, sufficient enough to stop in emergency, without hitting any vehicle succeeding the bus.
