Driving on road and Road rage… We must not continue with it

In an incident of road rage yesterday, i.e. on 20th July, a woman riding a two-wheeler with two children was punched in the face by a motorist in Pune city after she advised him to drive properly.

The victim, a marketing head at a Pune-based luxury hotel, was riding towards Baner on a two-wheeler with two children when a man in a car did not give her way. She told him to drive properly. He then lowered the car window and verbally abused her. After she managed to pass the car, the driver tailed her, forcing her to stop on the side of the road and got out angrily, grabbed her shirt, and punched her three to four times in the face.

The victim claimed that when she attempted to take the car keys to prevent the man from fleeing, his wife, who was in the car, also assaulted her. Bystanders intervened during the altercation and the victim was taken to a hospital and the police were subsequently informed. An official from the police station said the couple was booked under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Motor Vehicles Act.

Authorities must take notice of such incident with utmost sincerity and device strategies so that with implementing same, no one can dare to assault anyone on road, not only women.

Seeking your kind attention for understanding the above issue and hope you would share such incidence to local Authorities, for taking due cognizance of prevailing situations and for further necessary action, ensuring safety of All…VM
