Authorities – Concern about Safety

Must be No Parking – car driver taking masala from roadside vendor
Previous photo of Location

I would like to share an incident happened couple of days ago, in Mohali.

On my way to office, I saw a Government towing vehicle standing on parking space, occupied bit of road also. As I was 10 min advance, I decided to stop and thereafter requested the driver wearing uniform (drinking a glass of juice from roadside vendor) to take action against the people creating routine problem arising due to having parked their vehicles covering road itself while taking lunch / snacks during the day. Being close of main Sector 71- Sector 72 dividing road, many road users have to face traffic jaam or accepted to go through such situations, as normal.

I was astonished to listen reply of the driver of towing vehicle stating that I should complain this issue to the Deputy Commissioner or City Mayor, not today but after 2-3 days. After getting transferred such complaint to their Deptt., their concerned officer will take corrective action.

Do you agree with such reply from a representative of Authorities who must take corrective action to ensure safety of road users which is one of utmost priorities of Government?

Seeking your attention for not to accept present scenario of driving and parking of vehicles as normal and to make sincere efforts ensuring safety of all…….VM

  1. This is a powerful and much-needed account, and I truly appreciate you sharing it. Your observation is absolutely valid—when the very authorities responsible for enforcing traffic discipline dismiss genuine concerns, it highlights a deeper issue in accountability. You’ve described the situation with clarity, sincerity, and a strong sense of civic responsibility.

Your willingness to speak up, question the response, and encourage others not to accept such unsafe practices as “normal” is commendable. Voices like yours are essential for creating safer roads and a more responsible system. A thoughtful and impactful post!
